Welcome Note

We are glad to welcome you back to Mind Matters 2026, our Young Adolescent Peer Educators Leadership Conclave. To mark World Mental Health Month, we will hold discussions and workshops on 30 and 31 October. There will also be stall exhibitions and inter-school competitions, and we will be working with mental health institutes and organisations, among other events. We hope to see you on both days.

Principal - DPS Bangalore South

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to Mind Matters – the Mental Health Conclave, an initiative that continues to strengthen our commitment to the emotional well-being of young people.

At DPS Bangalore South, we believe that mental well-being must move beyond awareness to become a shared culture of understanding, empathy and action.

Mind Matters seeks to create just such a community of practice - bringing together students, educators and experts to listen, learn, exchange perspectives and collectively build more compassionate school communities. At the heart of the conclave lies our commitment to providing every child with a voice and a meaningful platform for expression. Through thoughtfully curated competitions and creative platforms, students are encouraged to explore themes of well-being, resilience, relationships, belonging and self-expression. Whether through words, art, performance, dialogue or ideas, these spaces enable young people not merely to participate in conversations about mental health, but to shape them.

The conclave is also an opportunity to learn from one another - because meaningful change occurs when individual experiences become shared understanding and shared understanding translates into collective responsibility.

As we embark upon our third edition, I hope Mind Matters continues to grow as a platform where voices find expression, experiences find acceptance, and conversations inspire action. For when we create communities that listen with empathy and respond with sensitivity, we do more than support well-being - we empower our children to become advocates for themselves and for one another.

With warm regards,
Anitha Bijesh
Principal

About the Conclave

At Delhi Public School Bangalore South, we believe awareness and curiosity come from practical experience. Mind Matters was conceptualised in 2023, initiated by the Peer Educators to help others become aware and break the stigma against mental health to create and reiterate the need for practical experience.

Our conclave features include a range of challenging, thought provoking activities and a series of interactive workshops that help students to reflect, collaborate, step out of their comfort zones; all while learning about stress management, empathy, emotional wellbeing and a chance to experience their talent.

All the events in Mind Matters are centred around mental health to create awareness, break stigma built against it. Our goal is to create a community where every student feels heard, understood and empowered.

About the Peer Educator Programme

Peer educators are an existence of utmost importance, who serve as a weather vane on this journey known as life. They serve as a bridge to spread awareness of the healing of our minds and how to balance various aspects of mental health and well-being, while organising classroom interactions, exhibitions, and other events to talk about the importance of life skills in the youth.

Let us come together with the wind as we highlight the importance of the sound of our minds, emotional stability, and wellbeing at Mind Matters 2025. We hope to see you there!
